    The Best Strings...

0 5/5 Uncle Meat (Southeastern PA, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: D'Addario EXL170TP Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, Light, 45-100, 2 Sets, Long Scale (Electronics) Simply put, these are the best strings at the lowest price. I've been playing electric bass for over 35 years and these are the brand I always come back to. I've tried Dr. Bass, Rotosounds, Fender, Markleys, etc. with no noticeable difference or improvement. D'Addarios sound great and last a long time. You can usually find them in multi-packs and/or on sale so it doesn't hurt to change them more often. This is one example where use don't get what you pay for, your get more! They come in many different lengths and gauges, so make sure you buy the correct set for your instrument. If you select a different gauge, don't forget that you may have to make adjustments to the intonation, string height, and/or neck relief on your bass or guitar. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 7, 2011

    Great Sound and Longevity.

0 5/5 TheBigC - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: D'Addario EXL165TP Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, Custom Light, 45-105, 2 Sets, Long Scale (Electronics) I've been using D'Addario strings for ages. Both on my basses, and my guitars. These bass strings are comfortable enough to play, even on the longer 3 hour+ gigs. They sound nice and bright. But the main thing is they last a long time. They retain their tuning and sound for ages which is good news for the struggling muso. Plus, who wants to keep changing their strings all the time? Not me! I don't have a guitar tech like the stars do. Or the money!I have tried many different brands over the years but always come back toDÁddario for their great performance and longevity.Highly Recommended 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 17, 2012

    Be careful installing them....

0 5/5 Mike DeMoss - See all my reviews This review is from: Elixir® Strings Nickel Plated Steel 4-String Bass Foundation Set with NANOWEB® Coating (Electronics) These strings are great, just be careful when you install them, because they can break if you tighten them too quickly. I always tighten them a little, stretch them with your fingers, tighten a little more...etc. Once they're on and in tune, they're the best. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 18, 2011

    Best Strings Ever

0 5/5 Arland B - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Elixir® Strings Nickel Plated Steel 4-String Bass Foundation Set with NANOWEB® Coating (Electronics) Shipping and Processing speed was great.I have been playing bass for almost 10 years and I was a BIG fan of the GHS Flea Boomers until I got these one Christmas. The Elixir strings sound AMAZING. That new string sound lasts at least twice as long and after cleaning them they come right back for more. They may cost a bit more but they are worth it every time. I am never going back. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 3, 2013

    Best Guitar Strings in Existence

0 5/5 B. Santora - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Ernie Ball 2221 Regular Slinky Nickel Wound Set (10 - 46) (Electronics) I just turned 60 years old and I've been playing guitar since I was 13 - I've tried every make of string, and played most every model of guitar as well, and these are the only strings I use. I recently bought a used guitar which was strung with something else - couldn't wait to get the EB strings on there. Nothing else has the feel and sound - they just have a musicality and aliveness to them and manufacturing quality has been consistent over the years. I'd recommend these for any guitar, any style - harmonics, sustain, feel - they have it all. Only decision is .010's or .009's - I like to use .010's when tuned down to E flat, and .009's for standard tuning. If you don't like your guitar and it's strung with other strings, try these. Thanks EB! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 13, 2013

0 5/5 CM (USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Ernie Ball 2221 Regular Slinky Nickel Wound Set (10 - 46) (Electronics) In my opinion strings are the hardest thing to rate to an extent because everyone prefers different tensions and/or sounds but I will say that as long as you clean them once in a while they will last pretty long without major tone loss, as far as tension that all depends on the person playing. I've been using these for about 3 years now and I wouldn't swear by them but they are more readily available than a lot of other strings. I've used a lot of gauges from .09-.42 all the way to .12-.54 and what's comfortable for me may not be for you. I would definitely recommend a lighter gauge to beginners and my personal favorite is either the .10-.46 or the .10-.48 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 29, 2013

    Very Surprising...

0 5/5 Bongo Charm (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews This review is from: DR Strings NMCB-45 DR NEON 4 Bass Guitar String, Medium, Multi-Color (Electronics) Bought a set thinking they might help me learn the neck by associating strings/notes with color.I expected to sacrifice sound. I expected to see little paint flakes all over my bass. The truth is Ididn't expect much at all. It was just a experiment. But they're great. Color is eye-popping, action isvery smooth and THE SOUND IS RICHER THAN I IMAGINED POSSIBLE. If you're trying to learnyour neck combine these with Fret Daddy stickers for a powerful learning tool. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 7, 2014

This review is from: DR Strings NMCB-45 DR NEON 4 Bass Guitar String, Medium, Multi-Color (Electronics) Seriously these are the coolest strings ever. I was a little worried they wouldn't hold up, but I play a lot and they aren't flaking off little specs of colour like I thought they might. I'm really satisfied. The sound quality from these strings is a bit better than the ones my bass came with, so I think it was a nice change 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 13, 2013

Short version: These strings are incredible. Why haven't you bought them yet?Long version:Oh my goodness, wow. I absolutely love these strings. I even love how they have red cloth wrapping on the end of the string up by the headstock. The tone of these strings? To die for. These are the best bass strings I have ever used.Tone:Some words to describe the tone are as follows: biting, growling, aggressive, articulate, and bright. These strings were made for players who want to be heard, who want to cut through the mix. These strings have great low end, but that's not the impressive part. What's so impressive about these strings is that when a note is played, the combination of midrange and high harmonics give the tone a metallic, almost piano-like quality. Good for slap bass? Goodness yes.Versatility:These strings may be bright and audacious, but they can also be tamed by simply turning down the tone knob... 5/5 Adam Hilliard - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Incredible tone, good quality

0 5/5 Braxton Schafer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Rotosound RS66LF Swing Bass 66 Stainless Steel Bass Guitar Strings (45 65 85 105) (Electronics) Wow. That's the best description of these strings. I've been playing bass for about 5 years, owned 3 different basses with a wide variety of (mostly cheap) strings. My new P-Bass MIM needed new strings, so I splurged and bought these. The tone is fantastic. It stands out. I've seen other reviewers describe it as "piano wire-like" and I would agree with that. They just have a fantastic, twangy, deep sound. It's perfect for funk, metal, and slap bass. It REALLY stands out, so if you're a bassist looking to be seen and not heard, these may not be for you. These are by far the best strings I've owned (or played for that matter) and would definitely recommend these to anybody or buy them again. I've had them on my bass for a few months and the tone has also stayed pretty consistent too. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 1, 2015

Bingo - We have a winner

0 5/5 Amazon Customer (Athens, AL United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Rotosound RS66LF Swing Bass 66 Stainless Steel Bass Guitar Strings (45 65 85 105) (Electronics) I'm just a rank amateur and an old geezer, but I've been looking for the right string to give me that traditional P bass tone, not too muddy or too bright. I've played flat wound strings for years, but lately my ears have heard their tone as muddy and when I tried turning my tone up on either the guitar or amp to get more clarity the G string would ring too bright, even when using foam at my bridge. So after reading reviews I decided to give these a try. Perfect tone and balance on all strings. After playing flats for so long I'm having to be more disciplined to avoid string squeak, but that's actually a good thing and my playing and technique have improved as a result. Getting the tone I want is certainly worth the effort. My old bass guitar never sounded better.Trying different strings to get the tone you want is far cheaper than buying a new bass. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 13, 2014
