I you don't do Martin strings, don't do strings.

5/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Martin M620 Ukulele Strings Fluorocarbon, Tenor (Electronics) These strings are loud! I love the twang and pop for these strings, they really made my Uke sound like a totally different instrument.I've used every brand on the market, except that guy in London who makes his own strings. These Martin strings are smooth to the touch, have a very tiny seam line compared to my Aquillas. They are toned perfect and after a little breaking in, I haven't even had to tune my Uke this month. Minor adjustments of course, but these Martin strings really hold the tune once everything has been stretched out. I love em. The A string broke within minutes.

1/5 Lman (California) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Martin M620 Ukulele Strings Fluorocarbon, Tenor (Electronics) The A string is really thin. MUCH thinner than any other strings I've put on any of my ukuleles before. I assume that is why it broke within minutes of putting it on. This is my first experience with this brand of strings, and it will be my last.I've never had a string break even after having strings on my ukulele for months. This is ridiculous. They might sound great on your Ukulele, but on mine...not so much

3/5 J.R. - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Martin M620 Ukulele Strings Fluorocarbon, Tenor (Electronics) Keep in mind, I tried these strings on my laminated ukulele. This is the first time trying Martin's Uke strings. I have always been happy with their guitar strings. I've used Aquila Nylguts on my ukes in the past & wanted to try something different so I ordered up these strings. The strings took 3 weeks to finally stop stretching. I don't care for the tone of these strings on my uke. Compared to the Aquilas, these sound thin and less robust. As I mentioned earlier this was on my laminated uke, they may sound completely different on a solid wood ukulele. Every acoustic instrument is built differently and what works on one might not work on another. Wow.

5/5 Nathan - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: D'Addario EJ99TLG Pro-Arté Carbon Ukulele Strings, Tenor Low G (Electronics) I took a chance on these without finding a good recorded example of their sound, and I'm so glad I did. I put them on my Kala PWT as soon as they arrived and they blow the old Aquilas out of the water. The tone is even, full, and simultaneously warm and bright. The tension is low and the strings are soft, so playing is a breeze. And the sustain is out of this world. The strings are completely transparent which allow them to blend into any color uke, and I'm no longer wishing I had gotten black ones. These class up the dark colors of the pacific walnut of my uke with an almost glass appearance.I was worried that these would make my uke sound too much like a toy (I wasn't sure what they meant by its placement on the "bright" end of their "warm - bright" scale), but they make it hum like a beautiful classical guitar. These strings with the Low G tuning matures my ukulele into a serious instrument that I can't stop playing; I can't recommend them any higher. I have found the perfect strings

5/5 Christopher - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: D'Addario EJ99TLG Pro-Arté Carbon Ukulele Strings, Tenor Low G (Electronics) I have tried almost every string set for my tenor uke (at least 7 other types), and these are by far the best. None of the Aquila strings even come close to this set. These strings are very high quality and make the instrument project sound like never before. I can honestly say that I will not be using any other strings on my uke anymore, I have found the perfect set for my instrument. I was a bit worried that the tension on these would be very high to achieve the bright tone, but to my surprise they feel perfect. The titanium strings are much harder to play on. makes my uke sound lifeless

2/5 JJ - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: D'Addario EJ99TLG Pro-Arté Carbon Ukulele Strings, Tenor Low G (Electronics) I tried these because I love D'Addario's as a staple for my acoustic guitars. They are like a good, solid, middle of the road string that I use often as just day to day strings. When it comes to the ukulele I change the strings less frequently, but I chose these because of the low tuned non-wound c-string which is the way I like to tune my ukuleles. My initial impression is that they don't sound nearly as good as the Aquilas. I don't know what companies mean when they advertise as "modern tone" but I'm starting to think that I am a sucker for marketing. No matter what strings I've tried none sound as good as Aquilas. These are less responsive and sound more muffled than I would expect 'modern tone' to sound. I don't like changing ukulele strings but these probably won't last long for me because I prefer the sound of other stings Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 22, 2017
